"Hey Seamo:
I wanted to thank you for your support and encouragement this year. Your racing experience and knowledge really helped to improve my performance in the race. With the training schedule and the nutritional, hydration and tactical advice you provided I was able to meet my personal goals and enjoy the race more than I had anticipated."

Through my experience, I have gained a wealth of knowledge regarding cycling coaching. I understand the needs behind a cyclist and the importance of implementing effective training plans. I offer a unique coaching technique which involves the experience of having been there and done it!
I firmly believe that open communication between the coach and athlete is paramount in getting the most out of the training program designed; therefore, there is no limit on the amount of communication between coach and athlete. Updates: Oct. 14th 2010
Seamus has just completed his first FutureStars Training Camp. FutureStars operates camps for young athletes, instructed by Olympians. The camp took place in "The Mountain Biking Capital of Canada", Squamish BC, over the Thanskgiving weekend. The trails here are amazing, and the 12 young lads that took place were equally amazing in their mountain bike skills.
Seamus took the camp participants, aged 9-17, through a three day mountain bike training camp. The camp involved all of the rigours of training that a professional athlete undertakes in preparing for a race. Camp activities included lots of cross country mountain biking, core/strength/stretching session, and a discussion of training techniques, all led by Seamus.
Here is a quote from Alison Iles, whose son took place in the camp:
"Hi George, just wanted to let you know that the boys from Whistler loved their Future Stars Camp. Seamus was super personable and really seemed to connect with the kids on their level. Great job on your part also. We'll definitely sign up for the Whistler camp in the spring-Keep em coming. Cheers, Alison"
It was a pleasure for me to be able to coach the young guys over the course of a weekend. Definitely some FutureStars there!
Sept 17-19 2010
On another note, Seamus recently rode in the Crank the Shield 3 Day mountain bike race, held in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands of Ontario. Seamus' good friend Adam Ruppel put on the event, 3 days of amazing point to point off road riding through some amazing country-rolling forested hills, lakes a plenty, rivers, nice single track, good weather, good food, good accommodations, good company, you name it! Definitely a race to put on the to do list. Adam ran a contest "Ride of a Lifetime with Olympian Seamus McGrath" Each day I was paired up with a new group of riders, and I was able to offer them coaching tips along the way. I had an amazing time, thanks to Adam for having me out.
